Student wins first in nationals 22 Aug 03

(22 Aug 03) A Lutheran school student took first place in a national competition for poetry reading, held earlier this week at the Pedro Molino Teachers School in Chimaltenango. Yefri Adolfo Miche competed against students from across Guatemala and was awarded the gold medal and a cash prize of Q900 (about $115). His "coach" for the competion was Professor Ronald. Yefrí is a Básico III student at Redentor del Mundo Lutheran School of Santiago Zamora, Guatemala. He also was a 2001 exchange student to St. Paul Lutheran-Fort Worth, TX. Yefri and his fellow classmates will be Redentor's first students to graduate Básico this October.
