Property and Maintenance Committee
2002 Annual ReportCommittee: Ed Brommer, Jim Graham, lots of volunteers
All you have to do is look at the sanctuary and you know a large part of what this committee's been up to in 2002. The sanctuary remodel went smoothly and has been very well received. A lot of people put in a lot of time and we want to thank them for their efforts. (For a complete list, see the pictures on the church website!)
After the carpet and remodel was finished, the communion rail needed some extra attention to make it comfortable for use. Jim, Leo and Arnold Mittelstaedt all contributed to getting it ready to be used and looking nice.
In addition to this major project, there were other smaller things taken care of including replacing an outside door at the parsonage, having the furnace repaired and cleaned, and repairing the toilet in the boy's bathroom.
On our agenda for 2003 is a general review of the condition of our properties and developing a maintenance schedule. We will also be looking for a way to fix a drainage problem from the roof at the ROCK where water comes down on the front steps and freezes. And we'll continue to talk with the Council and congregation about the issues of getting in and out of our building safely and smoothly for everyone.
