Board of Christian Education and Youth

Emmanuel Board of Christian Education and Youth

Education:

The Board of Christian Education shall

a. be responsible for the Christian nurture of children, youth, and adults in the congregation, and through them in the community and beyond.

b. develop general objectives for the total educational program and specific objectives of each agency of the congregation - Sunday School, Mid-week School, Vacation Bible School, Youth and Adult Bible Classes, etc.

c. analyze curriculum and the performance of each education agency and seek constant improvement.

d. encourage increasing participation of every member.

e. work with the organizations and other Boards to coordinate the educational activities within the congregation.

f. maintain, improve, and cultivate the use of the church library.

g. seek ways and means for enlisting the active cooperation of the home in the educational program of the church.

The Board of Youth shall
a. be responsible for developing and administering a program of study, worship, fellowship, and recreation for and with the young people of the congregation.

b. recruit the young people for active participation in the program of the church.

c. enlist the cooperation of the home in the congregation's youth program.

d. provide counselors for help in planning and supervising youth activities.

These two boards are presently working together. Emmanuel is in the process of combining them. There is already privision in "e" for the Boards to work together.

God speaks to us through His Word and gives to us His Sacraments. We respond with song, words of prayer, praise,and thanks, and through our acts of service towards God and one another. How can we make these activities more appealing and available for the members of the Lutheran Church
