THE CHURCH COUNCIL

7.1 The Church Council shall consist of: the President, the Secretary, the Treasurer (the Financial Secretary), the Elders (Discipleship), the Trustees (Property Maintenance), and the pastor(s) as ex officio.

Note: The congregation may add as either voting or advisory members the Parochial School Superintendent, (Principal) the School Superintendent, the Sunday School Superintendent, and Certified Church Workers, Lay.

7.2 It shall be the duty of the Church Council to meet monthly to consider and discuss all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the congregation and its ministry.

7.3 It shall hear and receive reports on the progress of each area of ministry from the respective board Chairman.

7.4 It shall receive suggestions and recommendations from the Chairman of each Board and prepare proposals to be brought before the Voters Assembly.

7.5 It shall plan and coordinate the total program of the congregation's ministry.

TERMS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS

9.1 President

9.11 The term of office of the President shall be two years, and may hold consecutive terms of office.

9.12 The President shall

a. serve as the executive director of the congregation's total program and be responsible for it that all elected and appointed Officers, Boards, and Committees are carrying out their respective responsibilities.

b. prepare the agenda for the Church Council meetings and present the agenda for the Voters Assembly as determined by the Church Council.

c. preside at all meetings of the Church Council and the Voters Assembly.

d. be an ex officio member of all Boards and Committees.

e. delegate definite responsibilities to the Vice-President.

9.2 Secretary

9.21 The term of office of the Secretary shall be two years, and may hold consecutive terms of office.

9.22 The Secretary shall

a. be responsible for the safekeeping of all past and present permanent minutes of the congregation.

b. record the permanent minutes of the meetings of Church Council and Voters Assembly.

c. conduct the official correspondence of the Church Council and the Voters Assembly.

d. maintain an accurate list of voting members.

e. keep an accurate record of attendance at the meetings of the Church Council and Voters Assembly.

f. be responsible for notifying the voting members of the date and time of regular and special meetings.

g. supply "digests" of the meetings for parish publications.

h. upon request supply information recorded in the church minutes.

9.3 Treasurer

9.31 The term of office of the Treasurer shall be two years, and may hold two consecutive terms of office.

9.32 The Treasurer shall

a. be responsible, together with the Financial Committee, for expediting the safe deposit and keeping of all funds.

b. be responsible for the monthly remission of all offerings for missions and church agencies and the prompt payment of all salaries and bills.

c. be responsible for recording the congregational receipts and disbursements according to proper accounting procedures and, as deemed advisable, shall suggest for congregational consideration improved systems or methods of keeping financial records.

d. submit a written report at each Church Council meeting.

e. submit a permanent financial record for annual audit.

9.4 Financial Secretary

9.41 The term office of the Financial Secretary shall be 3 years and may hold consecutive terms of office.

9.42 The Financial Secretary shall

a. be responsible for recording the contributions of the members of the congregation.

b. issue regular semiannual statements to members, showing their offerings to date.

Financial Committee

9.51 The term of office of the Financial Committee shall be two years, and may hold consecutive terms of office.

a. shall consist of four members.

b. two shall be elected each year.

9.52 Financial Committee shall

a. be responsible for counting and expediting the safe deposit and keeping of all funds.

b. shall report all deposits to the treasurer.
