"The Low-down on Downsizing" |
Senior Fellowship Gathering Are you ready for a fruitful afternoon? This is an all inclusive gathering – everyone is welcome! So, pick up your parent(s), aunts and uncles, and neighbors, (and your adult-children) and bring a light snack to share, and come to Grace. This is a significant topic for adult children and their parents. It is a great idea to come together, if possible. Join us Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 2:00 p. m. for a presentation by Jean Long Manteufel, CEO of Long’s Senior Transitions in Appleton and columnist. Do you want to have some added fun? Then, bring an item you’re willing to part with that is "Too good to just get rid of, but you have never found a use for." We’ll explore: • Challenges of moving from the house in which your family was raised • When and how to start downsizing • How to deal with adult children, and keep peace in the family. Jean will share stories from her experiences and examples of how to manage this not-always-so-easy process. You are welcome no matter your age, your gender, etc., to the Fellowship Gatherings at Grace! We have a elevator-style lift for those who can’t climb or descend stairs, so pick up a neighbor, (maybe one who can’t drive anymore) bring a snack, and come enjoy time together.
|
Come, sit in a comfy chair, engage in interesting and relevant topics. We'd love for you to join us. | |
| Joy Circle |
Come, grow in God's Word and in sisterly relationship with us the second Monday of each month. |
Life is a journey in which ‘Tough questions’ endlessly develop. Ladies, come Monday, February 13, to Joan's place, Appleton Health Care Center, at 6:30 p.m., and explore the tough questions you are asking these days. Together, we’ll look at passages from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 10, in search of God’s answers. Joan lives at 2915 N Meade Street, Appleton. |
If you have any questions, please call Lois Hilger, 731-0648. Take a step of faith and invite your neighbor lady to accompany you! Come, discover a safe and loving place to belong. Join Us! |

| Quilting to Make A Real Difference! | Giving to Help People and Glorify God! May the Lord be glorified as LWR shares, in Christ’s name, the record number of quilts we shipped in 2011(325)! We are gearing up to ship more quilts and wrapped bars of soap to those in desperate need. Lutheran World Relief distributes the quilts, we hand tie, to those struck by devastation. |
If you have a desire to help, we'd love to have you join us. We gather during the school year in the lower level of Grace Lutheran Church, 900 North Mason Street, Appleton, Wisconsin to make quilts and fellowship with each other. We use: material, old drapes, scrap fabric, large pieces of clothing that can be cut up to make quilts, yarn, thread, etcetera. If you need someone to pick up donated materials, please contact the office, 920-733-9135.
| If you are interested in quilting with us, no experience required, join us Tuesday mornings, 8:30 to 11:30, in the lower level of Grace, throughout the school year. Thank you, again, for the donations of yarn, thread, fabric of all kinds, new and used! Call, 920-733-9135, for directions to the church or to arrange to donate items. |
