CLUB NEWSLETTER
2005 - 2006
June 2005 - Issue 2
Here we are at the start of the summer. A few months since we have returned to our roots as "The Club for Model Railroading". It has not been the easiest of transisions, although it was a simple one. So where are we?

We are only a group of three or four (3 adults & a teenager) modellers. We each seem to have little spare time to put into the hobby. Certainly the teenager least of all. We have only managed to gather a couple times in our firt four months due to individual schedules.

There is still a list of things to do to get the Layout into operational shape. a home built controller is the major task to getting the system moving. Perhaps with the summer a tittle time will free up and the task will get done.

For the future (This Fall) we need to do something to make ourselves know. The idea of an open house is about the only best idea. If the Layout were operating it would be the centerpiece draw no matter if two or twenty people showed up. So that's the goal for the next six months or so.

No trips are planned as of now. But a few ideas are bubling: a ride on Metro North to the Danbury RR Museum, a ride on the NJT Jersey City/Bergen Light Rail Line to see the progress, or, a visit to the revamped NYC Transit Museum are possiblilties.

We are welcome to ideas and new members. Come and build a new enthusiasm for our shared Hobby!

February 2005 - Issue 1
.
Welcome to the first Issue of our new Newsletter.

This will be an informal style of newsletter. It will be posted only as needed but no more frequently than once a month.

The re-emergence of 'The Club for Model Railroading' starts February 1, 2005. We continue the efforts of the current members to provide a time and place to enjoy our hobby of Model Railroading. We thank St. Jacobi Lutheran Church for the use of the facitility in association with Boy Scout Troop 350.

The Club meets as needed and as the membership is availble. Visitors are always welcome. but, visitors must call before attempting to visit to be sure we are meeting. Our meeting time is on Fridays, 9:15pm to 10:30pm. Call evenings to 718-854-0768 and ask for Walter Forst for info about the Club or whether or not the Club is meeting the coming Friday.

The Club is open to all interests and Scales of Model Railroading. Presently all the members have a primary interest in 'HO Scale'. The Club has a 5'x 9' two level moveable (not transportable) Layout owned in common by the Club. Motive power and Rolling Stock is owned by individual members. An explanation of members rights and responsiblities will be given to those so interested when you visit or apply.

Our weekly sessions, when held, are currently for layout construction, upkeep and repair. We expect to have short operating sessions starting soon.

This is not a fresh start, but continuation of what we started in about 1990. We do this to provide a place for not only ourselves, but for new (and veteran) hobbyists of all ages. If you are interested, get in touch and come visit soon!
