Grace Lutheran began as a mission church and the first service was held June 20, 1937 in the Primghar Legion Hall. The cornerstone laying for the first building was October 1939.

1988 saw us celebrate our 50th Anniversary. September 26, 1999 was the dedication of our new family room, Sunday School room and offices. February 15, 2004 was the dedication of the stained glass sanctuary windows.

2007: Purchased a property across the street from the church. With the removal of the house on that property, a needed parking area was added to the church.

2008: The 'gravel covered' roof was removed and replace with a membrane style covering. A clavinova was purchased and added to the church's musical equipment.
