The Story of World War II

Bar none, the best history of World War II I have ever read. It is absolutely spellbinding! I bought this from the value bin at Barnes & Noble (the hardcover edition)--Amy's comment was, "You'll never read that!" I cannot put it down.

This book masterfully conveys a narrative of the events of World War II, giving an overview, while seamlessly weaving in personal accounts of those events. It is also well illustrated. Highly recommended.

The Diary Of A Young Girl

This is a book I had been meaning to read for a long time, having never covered it in primary or secondary school. Horrifyingly real but at the same time accurately portrays the viewpoint of an adolescent girl. Not as heavy on history as I was hoping, and a little pedantic for a guy to read.
