Independence Sunday |
|
This years celebration was dampened by the absence of our fearless leader, Pastor Nibbe. He fell and hurt his back and on doctor's orders had to miss our celebration this year. That didn't stop him from making many phone calls to make sure everything was under control. The United States Army Color Guard did the "Presentaion of the Colors" as Big Butter and the Sacred Egg Dixieland Band played "The Caissons Keep Rolling Along." Assemlywoman Fiona Ma, the Majority Whip was in attendence and shared some inspirational words with us. Mayor Pro Tem Sue Digre graciously filled in for Pastor Nibbe. Our congregation worked hard decorating the church and providing a hot dog and beans luncheon for all of the attendees. |

Instead of Fat Tuesday we had Fat Monday! On Monday Feb 4 we enjoyed a Louisiana style dinner. Dan Cinti cooked up some gumbo and rice for us. Ummm, uummm cornbread and rice and beans! On Mardi Gras one uses up all the fat in the household before the beginning of Lent.

Victorious Voices |
|
No, it's not the "We are Family" or the "Village People" it's the Victorious Voices singing "When God Almighty came to be one of us." A big thanks to Teresa Naqishbendi for leading the group and playing piano. John and Joan Thompson, Warren and Carolyn Hultberg, Merle and Betty Eggan and Jeri Luna make up this amazing group. |

Inter Mountain Christian High School |

|
Every year we look forward to Gordon Hultberg's visit. The sanctuary comes alive with his rousing boogie, woogie piano playing. His students, from Inter Mountain Christian High School in Utah, not only welcomed the worshippers but gave testimonies and sang for us.

The other thing we all look forward to is Pastor Tom and Gordon gettin' down with some "old time religion!"

Broceliande comes to Holy Cross |

|
On December 10,2006 Broceliande helped us prepare for the Season Of Advent by leading our Sunday morning worship service and performing an afternoon concert which was open to the public. Brocilande plays Celtic music from the British Isles. Their lyrics and harmonies took us back to the days of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Sacred Indian Dancers |
Teaching us hand gestures |
Holy Cross was blessed by a performance of traditional Indian dancing done with a Christian theme by Alexandria D'Souza and Ruth Alexander of Los Gatos. As the music filled our social hall they danced with rhythmic movements, graceful and interpretive facial expressions and hand gestures. They also encouraged us to participate by showing us hand gestures. This helped to give us a greater understanding of their dance and also promoted the universal oneness of the language known as music. Alexandria and Ruth left us wanting more and with a deep and abiding appreciation of their faith and culture.

Christmas Morning at Holy Cross |
|
Christmas morning at Holy Cross was very special. God filled the sanctuary with His presence as we worshipped and gave thanks for His gift to us...His Son! Ryan Jeffries and Alicia Silverfarb performed the acolyte duties and John Thompson shared the scripture readings. Pastor Nibbe's sermon was especially poignant sharing from the 1st chapter of John. "In the beginning was the Word...." |
