Thrivent Builds 2nd Annual Picnic
Thrivent Builds held it's 2nd Annual Picnic
at Speedway Meadows in Golden Gate Park.
God provided the beautiful weather and Thrivent
volunteers provided the food.
Crossings was asked to play music for the
picnicers but also helped with setting up.
Funds were raised to help a San Francisco
"Habitat for Humanity" family complete the
building of their new home.

Fog Fest Booth
This year Holy Cross donated all of the funds earned from the Fog Fest booth to the Hurricane victims in Florida. $2919.00 was raised including $1500 in matching funds from Thrivent.
Thrivent members honored by American Legion
Liz Marshment, chairwoman of Girl's State, presented Thrivent members Mary Lee Imerzel and Mary Lasley with a certificate of appreciation from the Pacifica Unit 238 American Legion Auxilary for matching funds raised from a
"Rags to Riches" Fashion Show put on by and at Holy Cross. $505.00 was raised to send a high school junior girl fom Terra Nova, Oceana and Mercy High Schools to Claremont College to learn about government.

Mexico Mission Trip
Holy Cross Lutheran and Grace Bible Fellowship held a hoe down fundraiser last year to send four youth on a mission trip to Mexico sponsored by Pastor Burch of Del Mar Vista Baptist Church and Alma Heights Christian Academy. Thrivent's matching funds helped to send Leah Naqishbendi and Bob Bran of Holy Cross and Tim Cahill and Justin Quartermaine of Grace Bible to Rancho de sus Ninos during spring break, April 1-8, 2004. Paula Cahill (Tim's mom) of Grace Bible also attended.
The ministries included concrete work, children's ministries and evangelism in nearby neighborhoods. On their last day an Easter egg hunt was held for the orphans.
It was agreed by all that though the work was hard the experience was rewarding.
