Lancaster County Chapter Board Funding Guidelines

The process:
• Visit the Thrivent Web site at www.lutheransonline.com/lancastercountychapter to review the forms you need to use before, during and after an event.
• Plan your event and the ways that you are going to publicize and promote it.
• Submit your completed request to lancastercountychapter@gmail.com by the third Tuesday of the month.
• It is Thrivent Financial's desire that its supplementing funds provide a significant impact within the community. We consider a ratio of 3 to 1 as providing that significant impact. The following are the Chapter Board's funding guidelines:
o Fund Raising Activity - for each $400 of requested funding, raise $800 and perform at least 30 hours of volunteer service, or raise $400 and perform at least 50 hours of volunteer service.
o Hands-on Service Activity - for each $500 of requested funding, perform at least 100 hours of volunteer service.
The Chapter Board will consider the type of need and the merits of each request individually in determining if this guideline should be applied
• We review requests on the fourth Tuesday of the month; you will be notified of project status.
• During the activity: track attendance, volunteer hours and donations (especially donations of more than $250). Also take pictures of the event so that we can share them with others on our website. Checks donated during a fundraiser should be made out to Lancaster County Chapter of Thrivent Financial.
• Within 30 days following the event, send completed forms, checks and receipts to the Financial Director. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the cancellation of the funding request.

If you are doing a project for:

An Individual
• There is a chapter limit of up to $2,000 per project for an individual or family crisis or disaster response.
• In an emergency, the Board may consider properly completed applications for individual/family crisis or disaster situations at any time between regular meetings.

An Organization
• There is a Chapter limit of up to $600 per project for a non-profit agency, institution, school, or special ministry group request.
• Agencies and related auxiliaries will be limited to six approved projects per calendar year.
• The Board will consider properly completed requests from non-profit agencies, institutions, schools, and special ministry groups only at its regular meetings.

Other considerations:
• Thrivent Financial does not permit funds raised for an event to be supplemented with both Thrivent Care Abounds in Communitiesฎ funds and supplementing/matching funds from any other organization.
• Thrivent does not permit funding of a project that has already happened.
• Thrivent does not sanction serving alcoholic beverages.
• Our chapter does not fund projects for recipients outside of Nebraska.
• Our chapter will not fund raffle projects.
