Stop by the corner of Florida and Anderson in Urbana on Sunday, December 14th, between 4:30PM and 9:00PM to view an event that brings out many in the congregation to witness to the community.  Trinity Lutheran Church in Urbana is holding their 7th annual Live Nativity.   The pictures are from the event last year.

The members of Trinity find much joy in reminding people of the real message of the season.  They are sharing with the community the reliving of the wonderful birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

There are live animals with people playing the parts of Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, shepherds, and angels.  A wooden stable has been constructed for the scene which includes space for an angel (played by children from the church) on top.  We have special music and songs all evening.  The Urbana High School Choir will sing at the event starting at 4:30.  A Choir made up of members of Trinity and other area churches will sing, and there will be various other songs and readings during the event.

Included with the packet of information that people passing by are offered is a candy cane and a pamphlet talking about its origins and meaning.  We all associate this piece of candy with the holiday season, but few know the true meaning of it or why it was created the way it is.

The church opens up its fellowship hall to anyone who wants to come in and have dinner and enjoy music and conversation.  People are on hand to answer any questions the community has regarding what they have seen outside, or the true meaning of the season.
