2012 Project 01 - St Olaf Choir

Project Date: February 9, 2012
Location: St Matthew Lutheran Church, Champaign IL
What an evening we had last night! The St. Olaf College Choir members were gracious guests at the meal funded by your generous Thrivent chapter. We even had a preview of the concert to be heard at Krannert when the choir sang their table prayer and two other brief songs. One of our ST Matthew members took some photos of the event, including one of all the Thrivent members who were there with the Thrivent banner behind them. You can see that at the right.
Many thanks for all your cheerful help in serving a hearty meal last night to the St. Olaf College Choir. I think our work was much appreciated by our guests, and we surely expressed our appreciation to director Anton Armstrong for his service to STM in the past and to this choir as they share the good Word wherever they sing.
The concert was amazing. It was a thrill to sit with a large audience and not only hear good music sung well, but to be drawn into a worship experience that may not have been expected by many in the crowd. I see what we did last night as witness: we fed this choir to enable them to sing songs of praise for a group larger than we could have reached in those two hours. We multiplied our witness by many hundreds.
I'll thank our Thrivent network for their support of our efforts. We couldn't have done this without that.
