Bike Drive for Toys for Tots 2010

The yellow arrow in background points to the
end of the row of 78 bicycles. That's an

(Just in case you wonder what 78 bicycles
looks like...)
In 2009, Thrivent Financial Associate Al Todd and others raised funds to be able to donate 78 Bicycles to needy children in our area via the US Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program. Funds were donated by family, friends, colleagues and strangers which were matched by Thrivent.

This year, the goal was 150 bicycles! Instead, fundraising allowed the purchase of 166 bikes for kids.

Because Thivent's Financial Associates are also members, a Care Abounds in Communities project supported the fundraising to purchase bikes at a discounted rate for donation to the Toys for Tots drive conducted by the local U.S. Marince Corps Auxiliary.

Bicycles were presented to the Marines on December 9, 2010 at The Club at Nevillewood.

Deployed Troops Christmas Stockings

The Chapter is collecting stocking stuffers for Christmas stockings to be sent to
the troops deployed to Afghanistan. The package assembly will be completed at
Redeemer Lutheran School.

A specific collection location will be at the Vatican Splendors Social and Voting
event at the Heinz History Center. To receive fee parking, bring a donation of
necessary and/or fun items: toiletry items (no liquids or aerosols), snacks,
Christmas items, etc.

See link to suggested Stocking Stuffers below.
