The Sanctuary |
Think of this painting of God reaching out and touching the finger of Adam. It was painted by Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistene Chapel in the Vatican. Like that symbolic gesture, giving life and Spirit to Adam, we too were given a new life and spirit when we were "touched" by the waters of our baptism. In 1872, a group of Swedish immigrants founded our "Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Lebanon Church of Whitehall." And for 130 years, the members of this congregation have been reaching out, touching people and renewing that life and spirit in those people seeking God. | |
