Teach Your Kids to Share Day

On the evening of April 24, families from across the country came together for a lively and interactive educational experience. Using innovative tools and techniques, the event focused on a values-based approach to money management. Our local event was held at the DaVinci Center in Allentown.

Together, families:

·                     Explored ways kids can share, save and spend.

·                     Discussed the importance of being responsible with money.

·                     Built a financial foundation for children that will last a lifetime.

This event was open to adults and children ages 6–10

Special Volunteer Role - CHAPTER ADVISOR
The Fraternal team has taken steps to increase its involvement in boosting member awareness. We have added volunteers to help chapter board leaders address routine matters and hot administrative topics. Each Chapter Advisor covers one to three chapters attending one-fourth of their meetings and is on call to answer questions. Advisors may come from the current chapter board, and not every chapter will have an advisor. Candidates from past chapter board leadership are being sought.
The Chapter Advisor is the liaison between the chapter and the Lutheran Engagement team. Team members will still handle the tougher (non-routine) and personnel issues. The net result will be more “face-time” with the chapter boards by those more thoroughly trained to resource chapter administration. The first line of inquiry is from the chapter leader to the Chapter Advisor – he/she will determine if a team member should be involved.

We believe the associated process will: 1) bring more, and more consistent, information to chapter leaders; 2) encourage more feedback from chapters and attention to chapter issues; 3) support additional sharing of best practices; and 4) offer a method for gaining input to further improve training and reference materials.
