Lutheran Day at the I-Cubs Memories
Thank you to all who participated in Lutheran Day at the I-Cubs in Des Moines!!!!,

--- 3,725 tickets sold

--- 3,000 people in the stands with Thrivent tickets

--- 452 people went through the Thrivent Builds Mobile (aka the Big Red Truck)

--- 800-1000 people attended the Thrivent Builds exhibition area and listened to the steel drum band “Tropical Steel”

--- 1,000 red ball caps distributed

--- 120 people participated in worship,

--- 308 gift items collected for Thrivent Builds homeowners in East-Central Iowa

452 people toured the Thrivent Builds Mobile
(aka the Big Red Truck)


Pre-game Activities

800-1000 people attended the Thrivent Builds
exhibition area and listened to the steel drum
band “Tropical Steel”


Tropical Steel Band

Music was led during the morning by Stan Dahl
and the band Tropical Steel.


Tool Donations

Terry Lantz was at the tool table, when Cubbie Bear
came by to donate a gift of duct tape, that will
help the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity
families. Tools will be given to each family when
they receive the keys to their homes.


Worship on the Hill

Many Lutherans joined in worship with
Pastor Jack Mithelman on the hill near the
Iowa Cubs stadium.


National Anthem with the Johnston Singers

National Anthem sung by Harry Hinrichs, Starr Hinrichs,
Terry Lantz, Karly Stearns and Karen Starr.

First pitch delivered by Ron Hanson,
Thrivent's National Volunteer of the Year
in the Retiree Category.


Second Inning Conversations

Troy Christensen joined the Cubs play by play
staff to share information on Thrivent Financial
and Thrivent Builds.


Field of Red Hats!

A few drops of rain fell, however the stands remained
full of Lutherans with red Thrivent Builds caps.

Big Red Truck heads back on the road!
