Regional Chapter Response for the Greater Iowa Region - $100,000
The Greater Iowa Region has received additional funding from the Thrivent Financial corporate office that we will be used for disaster relief. These funds will be used to support disaster response service activities and fund-raisers conducted by chapter service teams. Click on Regional Iowa Funds for information. Please contact Phyllis Coburn or Bruce Maurer if your chapter is considering doing a service project or fund-raiser.

National Chapter Response - $250,000
Local service teams around the nation can raise or collect funds for the Midwest Flooding Relief efforts. Through October 1, 2008, funds collected or raised will be divided between Lutheran Disaster Response and WELS Committee on Relief. For every $2 raised, Thrivent will match $1 with the $250,000 fund.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation has also donated $20,000 towards LSI.
The Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation has provided a $20,000 grant, earmarked for disaster relief, to Lutheran Services in Iowa.
This is in addition to our $10,000 in regional funds that the Greater Iowa Region pledged to LSI. This brings a total of $30,000 going to LSI and their Lutheran Disaster Response affiliate. For every $3 raised, Thrivent will match $1 up to $30,000.

LSI is providing long term disaster recovery assistance in Iowa. If you would like to conduct a fund-raiser to provide financial assistance
for this organization, please make the check out to: Lutheran Services in Iowa and make a note in the memo section that it is for
disaster relief. Mail the check to: Lutheran Services in Iowa, 106 16th Street S.W., P.O. Box 848, Waverly, Iowa 50677.
Money given to LSI will stay in Iowa.

Thrivent Financial helps our members contribute even more to their favorite Lutheran organizations. Lutheran Services in Iowa who is the Lutheran Disaster Response affiliate in Iowa is eligible to receive these funds. Through GivingPlus, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will add $1 to every $2 contributed to enrolled Lutheran organizations by benefits members and those who own Thrivent Mutual Funds and Thrivent Life Insurance Company products.
