Thank you to everyone who participated in the Meal Packaging Blitz for Feed My Starving Children held at Concordia Academy-Roseville Saturday, April 21, 2007. Thrivent Financial provided $25,000 to pay for food, packaging and shipping. The day was a huge success as our last group ran out of food and could not package any more. We stopped at 171,072 meals. That means we packaged enough food to feed 469 children one meal a day for a year!
Here are the shift breakdowns:
(8-10) 39,312 meals = 108 Kids fed
11-1) 42,120 meals = 115 kids fed
(2-4) 39,744 meals = 109 kids fed

| Feed My Starving Children Meal Packaging Blitz |
Sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Twin Cities RegionOn the 4th & 6th of May 2006, over 2004 volunteers of all ages gave of their time to package meals for the starving. In total at a packing event at the Thrivent head quarters in Minneapolis on May 4th and at Concordia Academy Roseville, Concordia Academy Bloomington, and at Feed My Starving Children locations in Chanhassen, Eagan and Brooklin Park on May 6th, volunteers packaged 620,523 meals for the starving in Zambia. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided $64,000 to pay for the food and supplies needed. Chapters provided additional funds through their Join Hands Day sponsorship of the event and volunteers went home with M&M containers to fill with change and return to FMSC. |
