Global Village Visits Denver

In December, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver hosted a special volunteer group. For the first time in our history, a Global Village team came to Colorado for a “Ski and Build”.

Global Village is a Habitat for Humanity International program that gives volunteers the opportunity to travel around the world to work with different Habitat affiliates. Our first Global Village team was comprised of members from across the United States. The team members traveled from Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri and Georgia to help build a duplex in Englewood, which will be the future home of the Vy and Gibbs Families.

The team worked during one of the coldest weeks in December and endured temperatures that at their highest reached 18 degrees. Despite the cold temperatures the team members truly enjoyed their experience and we are grateful for their help. After the build, the team visited Breckenridge for skiing and some much-needed rest and relaxation.
