Each year four volunteers are selected to receive this national award. Recipients must be Thrivent Financial members who, in 2008, actively demonstrated our mission of caring for others through volunteering in their communities and congregations, as well as with other Thrivent Financial members through chapters.

Lisa was involved in many activities that led to her being chosen for this award. She directed a Bike-A-Thon to raise money for a cancer drive with Walk with Grace/St. Judes; she was secretary for the American Legion; and was a co-leader of the Clyde Go Getters 4-H group. She was involved in many school related activities such as: setting up a Veteran's Day program, Talent Show, Literacy Night (organizes and directs school with authors coming to read to public) she is also a PTO Board Member at the River Valley Elementary School. She has also been a Sunday School teacher, Summer Vacation Bible School leader, Director of the church Christmas Program, singer in area choral and church choir groups, and board member at her local church in Lone Rock.

Each Volunteer Excellence Award National recipient receives a $2000 charitable contribution to be awarded to the charity of his/her choice, and regional award recipients receives a $250 charitable contribution to be awarded to the charity of their choice.
