Grant County was chosen as a 2008 Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity grant recipient. We started building a home in Benton starting in April 2008. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity have joined together to build affordable homes for families in need. Thrivent Financial intends to invest $105 million over a four-year period into this unique alliance called "Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity." In 2006, 313 homes were constructed as a result of the alliance. Seven of those homes were built in the Southwest Wisconsin District.
