Care Abounds in Communities® Projects

Each month your volunteer chapter board reviews fundraising and volunteer projects (Care Abounds in Communities® projects) that are submitted by Congregational Advocates (see description below). Approved projects are listed on this page.

Care Abounds in Communities® events are fundraisers or "hands on" volunteer projects for an organization or individual within our Chapter.

What is a Congregational Advocate?
A Congregational Advocate serves as an advocate for both the congregation and Thrivent Financial to identify Thrivent Financial solutions that will help the congregation achieve its mission and goals, resulting in a positive impact on the congregation and community.

If you would like to become involved with Thrivent and your congregation, then maybe you would like to become a Congregational Advocate. Contact volunteer Rev. David A Faulkner (715-298-1352), Director of Congregational Advocates, for more information.

If you would like to submit a Care Abounds in Communities® project, then download a Funding Request form and submit it to volunteer Fred Heider (715-573-0346), President.

***Submit your event for sponsorship consideration to Fred Heider by the first Tuesday of the month prior to advertising for your event.***

Kids Got Talent - May 30 on 400 Block

Our Thrivent Chapter (East Marathon County) is sponsoring a variety show on the 400 Block in downtown Wausau on May 30th. This program supports Peaceful Solutions Counseling and Family Counseling Services.

We have some terrific submissions of talent from area youth, both for the variety show as well as the visual art exhibit.

Want to help out?
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks: organize performers before and during the show, hand out programs, and welcome the public inside the Center for the Visual Arts gallery (next to The Grand Theater). Get a group together and contact Leila Lucero (715-551-0407), or email Leila to volunteer today.

Funds raised through sponsorships and entree fees will be split between the 2 non-profit organizations to provide mental health counseling for children traumatized by sexual/physical abuse and for counseling for families and individuals affected by alcohol/substance abuse.
