Twelve Congregations support Thrivent Builds VI |
35 volunteers from nine congregations were represented at the March 3 Thrivent Builds VI Wallraising. Three additional congregations have made substantial donations to the home. Thanks to Our Saviours' Lutheran, Gracepoint Lutheran, and most recently, Dove of Peace Lutheran, which earmarked their $2300+ proceeds from their community concert, Bach Birthday Celebration! Thrivent Builds will return to the site on Saturday, April 21 at 7am, and then the first Saturdays of the month, May through November. Those start times might be a little earlier depending upon the heat! Please let me know if you are able to attend in April, so that we can plan the work assignments accordingly. And of course, if you have friends and family who would like to join you, that would be a blessing! If your congregation would like to schedule a separate date for 8-10 volunteers, I would happy to arrange that, as well. Thank you so much for sharing your time! Jo Riester tsnazlib@hotmail.com

Are you a desert rat who likes to accomplish worthy projects in the heat of summer? Join us for the Thrivent Builds Days in 2012. Call 742-2882 to sign up and receive directions. Do you prefer to invest with a contribution? Consider an Arizona Tax Credit for the Working Poor donation. Checks made out to Habitat for Humanity Tucson, with a memo line of Thrivent Builds, serve at least three purposes: 1) contributions help with the local match for Thrivent’s $85,000 funding of the home, 2) contributions may qualify for a tax credit—above and beyond any tax credit donations you make for public schools or public schools, 3) investing in new homes and new lives builds our community in a positive way! Homeowners are being sought. If you know of someone, please direct them to the web page for qualifying info. http://www.habitattucson.org/own-a-habitat-home/ | |

Enjoy Sunrises? |
 Thrivent Builds Wallraising Volunteers |
Love sunrises? Enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done? Cherish the experience of helping others? Eager to learn about green building? Thrivent Builds volunteers enjoy beautiful mornings, while they create a home and stability for families. Abullahi Abdi and his family of five, who arrived in the United States in 2004 from Somalia, through United Nations assistance worked to receive the 2009 Thrivent Builds home.. The 2009 Thrivent Builds home was the first gold certified energy efficient home in the City of Tucson. We hope to match or exceed that rating with the 2010 home.
