Dear Friends,Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members touch millions of lives each year by raising funds or conducting hands-on activities that are supported by Thrivents' Care Abounds in Communities program. As a board, we depend on YOU to make these requests known to us so that the funds allocated for our Chapter may be put to the best use. The process all starts with someone identifying a cause, person or family in the community that needs some help. The next step is to form a team of at least six Thrivent Financial members who will help plan and conduct the activity. Depending on the recipient’s need, the activity may be a fund-raiser (such as a bake sale)or a hands-on service (such as painting a house).
Planning for the activity includes determining goals, completing and submitting the Request for Funding form (available from board members), planning the activity, and getting the word out to volunteers to help. Then just DO IT! After the event, you will need to do the follow-up reports, thank the volunteers, but best of all, celebrate a job well done that makes a difference in someone’s life.
If you know of a need in your community, prayerfully consider taking the lead on a project that will help. For ideas and advice, please contact me or any member of the board. We have funds to distribute but YOU HOLD THE KEY that will assist us in making a difference in someone’s life.
