Story County Chapter Care Abounds in Communities (CAC) ProjectsWe have three CAC requests for medical benefits to share with you. We want Story County members to be aware of these events so they can attend and/or offer support if they wish. We ask you to keep these families in your prayers.
- March 4, 2012 – Heidi Frohwein Denio Soup Lunch Benefit & possible auction will be held at the Dakins Community Center in Zearing, IA. Serving for the Soup Lunch will be from 11:00 – 1:30. Heidi is a 36 year old single mother of 5 children and is receving treatment for cancer through Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
- March 31, 2012 – Jill Starrett Medical Benefit Dinner and Themed Basket Auction will be held at the Roland-Story Middle School – serving will be from 5-7 PM. It includes a smoked pork sandwich dinner and ice cream for a free will donation. Pastor Adam Starrett, Jill and their 3 children joined Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland in August of 2010. Jill was diagnosed with Lymphoma in December 2011 and is receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
- March 31, 2012 – Emmalynn Matthies Benefit Dinner & Auction will be held at the Leonard Good Center in Ogden from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Emmalynn was born in 2009 with a severe form of anemia known as Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA), which is a form on bone marrow failure where Emmalynn does not produce her own red blood cells. She is currently scheduled for a Bone Marrow Transplant in May 2012 at Amplatz Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
