President Barb Jass called the meeting to order.
Minutes from the May 2 meeting were distributed, read and approved. Holly submitted a written financial report, showing an ending balance of $6,016.36. She reported a total of $45, 056.76 for the David Ritland benefit.
Ron Weiting was present, and stated a concern regarding equality of funding for each benefit.
Old Business:
Coolers were presented to each board member from the LCS Team of Phyllis, Bruce, Carol, Brendalyn and Karin.
The total from the Iowa Falls Elementary School Carnival fundraiser has not been turned in yet. (Total amount entered on July 7, was $5642.)
The Anna Mae Cook Benefit on June 4, raised $2237, with a $1200 supplement.
The Iowa Falls Ministerial Association fundraiser on June 4, raised $1000, with a $250 supplement.
Join Hands Day funding went to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in the amount of $995, for a Windbreak Project which took place on May 6.
A coffee pot has been donated for use at the Habitat building project site.
I-Cub tickets are available at the Iowa Falls Thrivent office. Volunteers are needed to staff the van at the ballgame. If interested, please express interest by June 9.
Thrivent Builds has chosen Nicole Sly and daughter of New Providence as recipient of the new home to be constructed in Eldora. Building plans are being revised to accommodate this family.
New Business:
Drew made a motion to admit 15 new members, seconded by Keith.
New Requests:
The Alden Elementary FAB fundraiser which will take place on June 17, is requesting a $250 supplement.
Hospice of Franklin, Hardin , Butler and Wright Counties are requesting $250 for their June 10 fundraiser.
Bethany made a motion to supplement $250 for both of the above fundraisers, seconded by Keith.
Correspondence/Phone Calls:
Riverside Bible Camp will be holding a quilt auction on Aug. 6; and a golf fundraiser on Sept. 22. Holly will follow up on these requests.
