Welcome to 2012 from the new North Seattle Chapter Board. Our borders are north of the ship canal and south of the King/Snohomish county line with Lake Washington on one side and Puget Sound on the other. Our plan is to be of service to the members who live in that area. There are many funding changes happening in 2012 and our goal is to keep you informed, educated, and in the loop. One of our priorities is to get batting for the quilting groups in the North Seattle Chapter area. We will place an order early in February and expect to be able to deliver batting early in March. Some of our church quilters like to order extra batting beyond what we are able to provide. The chapter will be glad to
accommodate such requests. If you need infromation about quilt batting, call Dave Munger at 206-363-8871.
2012 Changes
Congregations can now apply for funds from their chapter to benefit projects they have going on their campuses. The Choice Points program is still in effect and Thrivent policy holders will be given points which can be used to meet charitable needs selected by the individuals. The two kinds of Choice are a national vote to give to a big organization like Red Cross or Susan B Komen and points that you can give to your own local charities and churches.
The Care in Communities Program will be available for 2012 and we expect to continue to meet the needs in our area as we have in the past. If you know of specific needs within our community, please contact a chapter officer or contact us online at lutheransonline.com/northseattlechapter. Forms for community activities can be found at the Thrivent link below.
The chapter board meets several times throughout the year at Bethany Lutheran Church, near Greenlake, and Thrivent members are welcome to join us. Our minutes of the meetings are posted on the Thrivent website with the date and time of the next meeting.
