We have some great events coming up this spring and summer.
Make plans to join us for Lutheran Night at the Ballpark. Come see the Tacoma Rainier's at Cheney Stadium. Game night is Friday, July 18th, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5. Please contact your congregational coordinator to purchase tickets.

This summer we will also be collecting school supplies for local children. A poster and complete list of supplies will be sent to your congregation. All supplies will be gathered in mid-August for delivery to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. Please keep these kids in mind over the summer.

And don't forget, this summer there will be an opportunity to help on our latest Thrivent Builds Habitat for Humanity House. More information will be out shortly.

Mount Rainier Chapter
The Mount Rainier Chapter has 4,618 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who, along with Lutheran congregations in the area, join together for social, educational and volunteer activities. The Mount Rainier Chapter is one of nearly 1,400 geographic groups of Thrivent Financial members making a difference for organizations, congregations and individuals in need within their communities.

As a fraternal benefit society, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a not-for-profit membership organization that works with and through its members to support their communities, congregations and individuals in need through volunteer activities and gifting programs.

Helping Communities and Congregations

Chapter Activities $199,827
From holding a community-wide auction to raise funds for a child with cancer, to building a handicap-accessible play area at a local park, our members make a difference every day through our chapter system. Last year:

* 84 Chapter activities were conducted by the Mount Rainier Chapter, resulting in 12,346 volunteer hours.
* Funds raised by these local teams totaled $139,106, which were combined with $60,721 from Thrivent Financial to multiply the good we can do together.

GivingPlus¸Program $385,613
Through this program, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its subsidiaries adds $1 to every $2 members give to Lutheran educational institutions or outreach ministry organizations.

* 82 Lutheran organizations received $385,613 in supplemental funds based on contributions from 1,920 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members in our chapter and other chapters throughout Washington.

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity $1,099,234
Through our alliance with Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans contributed $882,683 to support Thrivent Builds projects in Washington. Our members raised an additional $164,148 and committed 34,372 volunteer hours to help build 13 homes in Washington.
In addition:
* Members in Washington also joined with Thrivent Financial to donate $26,188 to Habitat for Humanity and its affiliates.
* Thrivent Financial supported its many members who participated in a total of 100 Thrivent Builds Worldwide trips by providing $26,215 toward trip costs and $686,984 to help Habitat affiliates hosting the volunteers build additional homes.

Other Impact $29,034
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans added to its impact in Washington through grants awarded to Lutheran and community organizations as well as by supporting additional volunteer and outreach efforts.
