Two projects for Join Hands Day were approved by the board at the Rio Grande Valley Chapter Coordinator's Training Meeting on March 29th, 2008.The first project approved was the Lutheran Youth Groups from St. John's in San Benito.
The second project approved was Our Savior Lutheran Church from McAllen. Their project will include four recipients; Lutheran Social Services, Casa of Hidalgo Co., Children's Advocacy Center (Estrella's House), and Su Casa De Esperanza (House of Hope). The committee will collect baby blankets, diapers, onesies, baby shampoo and lotion, baby wipes, bibs, q-tips, boxed juices and teething rings to add to items purchased. These items will then be delivered on the first Sunday in May.
