Knock Breast Cancer Out of the Park

On August Third The Grand Prairie Airhogs wore Pink for "Knock Breast Cancer Out of The Park."
The "Knock Breast Cancer Out of the Park" Care in Community project on August 3, 2008 was a great success. We raised over $4000 for the Breast Cancer 3-day and its beneficiaries, Susan Komen for the Cure and the National philanthropic Breast Cancer Fund. The Grand Prairie Airhogs proved that real men wear pink as they defeated the Pensacola Pelicans by a score of 7 to 3. Breast Cancer survivors were honored during the game. The players and coaches wore pink jerseys during the game which were autographed and auctioned off after the game. The Airhogs also donated a suite that was auctioned of for the game. It was a Great Fundraiser for Team Thrivent and The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. The Grand Prairie Airhogs Play in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Team Thrivent Raised over $6000 to Fight Breast Cancer
Team Thrivent, The Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk team, supported by the Dallas Tarrant Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, completed another successful year. With the final donation posted on December 14, The Team raised $6886.00 to fight Breast Cancer. The Largest portion of those funds were raised at "Knock Breast Cancer out of the Park" with the help of the Grand Prairie Airhogs Minor League Baseball Team. The event at quicktrip park involved the Airhogs wearing pink jerseys that they later autographed and were auctioned off. Second base was also painted pink, autographed by all the players and auctioned off. A portion of ticket sales also went to the cause. It was all part of a Care in regions project that matched $1 for every $3 raised.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in our effort to fight Breast Cancer
