Meeting Agenda and Minutes
Henry opened the meeting with prayer at 9:01. Attendees were reminded that minutes are available on the Chapter Leader page and accessable to all ...including congregational leaders . Minutes for November and December 2008 were approved.
Twelve new Chapter members were accepted. Names available online.
Treasurer report : Balance $3000 plus. Outstanding : Dog Charity straight donation and Glenpool Angel Tree project .
Eleanor states that an audit is in process Elmore Isaacs assisting. Will be completed by February 28th .
Pete provided information gleaned from the conference call . As chapter consultant he is included in these calls and will keep us updated.
Care in Community Projects. Funding is presently suspended - probably until end of January.
Projects presented and approved: 1)Hands on: RAMPS - spring construction Joe Jones $600. 2)Fund raiser: UPPER ROOM - Crossroads Rosita $200. 3)Fund raiser MEND Crisis pregnancy resourses Charlotte $600 4) PENDING PAPERWORK fundraiser Golf Tournament Faith Youth Dewane 5) PENDING PAPERWORK fundraiser DinnerAuction Faith LWML Kathy D.
Judit informed the group that each chapter is to provide 4 educaional/social events each year. April 4th in Oklahoma City there is to be an event for Chapter Leaders. More information forthcoming .
Thrivent Builds report . Howard provided a handout for reference for our newest home to be constructed. A planning meeting is this Tuesday at 6:30 at !st Lutheran.
It is reported that there will be no more meetings scheduled at Cityplex on weekends. It was decided that meetings will be conducted at Churches on a voluntary basis. There will be one such meeting at Immanuel - a breakfast meeting with Tammy's husband cooking! The evening meetings will continue at the 48th floor offices.
Bob advised the group of an upcoming Lutheran Night at ORU Basketball Feb 28th.
$4 ticket price for best available seats. Plans includes a meal for Chapter members prior to the game. This event will count as one of the year's social events. A newsletter will go out with details .
Following some discussion it was moved and approved to allocate $2000 for the 4 events for the year. Some will cost more than others it is agreed.
A date is being set for Coordinator training .
It was reviewed that JOIN HANDS is ALWAYS the 1st Saturday in May . This year that falls on May 2nd. $1000 is provided for the event's expenses and is lost if not used. Projects must be submitted and approved well in advance of National date.
Rosita Martin shared pictures and articles regarding the special Christmas items presented to the recipients of Meals on Wheels. There was brainstorming of new ideas for year's projects.
Next meeting is scheduled for February 12 at 6:00 p.m.at Cityplex towers 48th floor.

Meeting Agenda and Minutes
Henry opened the meeting with prayer. Minutes of the January meeting were approved.

Nineteen (19) new Chapter members were approved .

Treasurer's report - $5973.11 in the operating acct. Care in Communities funds were cut 20%. Amount allocated - $17,892. Care in Congregations also cut ... $1020 & $1250. Eleanor reported that the audit is completed . Elmore Isaacs assisted in the audit.

It is agreed that projects once approved must be completed within thirty days. A maximum of $600 will be approved for each request, with a 3:1 ration supplement for fundraising events, and a 50% volunteer hours for Hands On events.

Projects presented and approved:
Oaks Mission - $600. Expect to raise $18,000. Howard
Immanuel - Teen Auction for Youth Mission Trips - $600 . Expected $14,000
Faith - Sunday School offerings - $250 . Expected $700.
Trinity - Relay For Life Kickoff Dinner. $200 . Minimum 100 volunteer hours.
Sand Springs - Lenten Soup Suppers to benefit Oaks Mission
Projects Completed: Owasso Faith Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast .

Care in Congregations - No report in Rosita Martin's absence. 3 projects are online.

Care in Regions - one in progress . More information forthcoming.

Thrivent Builds - Howard . Hand outs distributed. 2009 schedule for new home - walls up March 14th , completed May 9th . Process well under way ....only 2 dates open for lunches - April 25 & 29th . Very near goal $$ chapter responsible for, $4349 !! . Approved $175 from Operating funds for pizzas, Water and cups for walls up day .

Join Hands Day funds reduced to $500. The preferred Day is May 2nd . Activities could be performed from April 1st through June 30th . Jennifer is organizing an event.

Lutherans Night Out is scheduled for February 28th . Dinner to begin at 5:15 and the ORU Basketball Game to begin at 7:05. $4.00 for the ball game with dinner paid for with chapter operating funds.

Judit discussed the Training in Oklahoma City Saturday April 4th . Four from our chapter have registered to attend.

A Thank you from Leon Boggs, director of Messiah was shared with the group. A donation was made December 2008 to help with the expenses associated with the annual production.

Judit shared information regarding an upcoming event - Teaching Children to Share. This is a family event scheduled for April 24th from 5 - 9 p.m. that deals with money matters . Henry is contact person . More information and opportunities to volunteer to assist with this event forthcoming .

It is reported that the pew pencils are in stock and may be requested from Ed Meyer.

It was voted to continue the purchase and delivery to the 17 congregations paper products, Limit $1,000 per church. Food items will be purchased with Community funds in 2009.
