| Host a Social Event at Your Church in 2008 | | | The Summit-Portage County Chapter is once again assisting congregations in hosting a social event or several social events through the end of 2008. Each year our congregations can receive up to $50 from the chapter’s annual operating funds to pay for a social activity. We only ask that you mention in your publicity that the event was supported financially by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Check with your congregation’s Congregational Coordinators to see if you have already received this funding for 2008. |

| We did it again! |
The Ohio Regional Financial Office (RFO) of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans announced the Summit-Portage Chapter has earned a Chapter of Excellence award for its volunteer contributions to the local community in 2007. The award acknowledges the chapter’s leadership and members for organizing and implementing fund-raisers and service projects to address area needs. 12 out of 35 Thrivent Financial chapters in the region earned the excellence award in 2007. “Thrivent Financial members show their care and compassion for others every day by participating in outreach projects through their chapter,” said Andy Barthel, Manager of Lutheran Community Services for the Ohio RFO of Thrivent Financial. “The Chapter of Excellence award is one way to recognize and thank the Summit-Portage Chapter for all their service in 2007.” |
