The Northwest Hennepin County Chapter has 3,953 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members. Along with Lutheran congregations in the area, they join together to have fun, learn and make a difference through social, educational and charitable activities. The Northwest Hennepin County Chapter is one of more than 1,300 geographic groups of Thrivent Financial members making a difference across the country.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a faith-based membership organization that helps members be wise with money and live generously. As a fraternal benefit society, Thrivent Financial works with and through our members to support their communities, congregations and individuals in need through volunteer activities and gifting programs.

The Chapter Board extends a warm and heartfelt greeting to all that are visiting our website and are excited about the opportunities we have in 2012.

We have been allotted $25,895.00 for Care in Communities projects for 2012. From holding a community-wide auction to raise funds for a child with cancer, to building a handicap-accessible play area at a local park, to providing educational opportunities, our members make a difference every day through our chapter system.

33 activities were conducted by the Northwest Hennepin County Chapter, resulting in over 10,114 volunteer hours.

Funds raised by local teams totaled $37,969, which were combined with $25,495 from Thrivent Financial to multiply the good we can do together.

Thrivent Choice Dollars

In 2011, Thrivent members recommended where Thrivent Financial for Lutherans distributed $63 million of its charitable outreach funds through the Thrivent Choice® charitable grant program. Thrivent Choice has two components. Through the Choice DollarsSM part of Thrivent Choice, eligible benefit members recommended how to distribute $62 million to more than 20,000 Lutheran congregations and organizations. Through the Voting Event portion of Thrivent Choice, members voted to determine how 7 national charities would share $1 million.
