West Lucas County Chapter of Thrivent in partnership with Providence Lutheran Church, All Saints Lutheran Church, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Huntington Bank invites you and your child to attend one of the following workshops on June 21, June 26 or June 28. In today’s economy, teaching good money management to our children is important. Interactive, value based educational opportunity with games, drawings and resouce materials are offered. RESERVATIONS are required so we will have enough supplies. Sign up today!
(Huntington Bank is also providing $50 or $100 vouches redeemable to any adult opening an free checking account, details at the workshop. Huntington will have a representative on sight at each Workshop to answer your questions about the savings or checking account programs.)
Parents, Kids and Money Matters®
Thu., June 28, 2012, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
§ This values-based, money management workshop consists of a simultaneous parent session and lesson for kids ages 6 – 10. Parents gain a better understanding of how to reflect on the values they want their kids to learn and practical tools to make teaching about money fun. Kids discover three basic money choices: share, save and spend and begin to understand that money can be used to help others.
§ This interactive, values-based workshop takes a unique stewardship approach to talking to children about money management.
§ It consists of a parent workshop, led by a Thrivent Financial representative, with a simultaneous children’s lesson, led by a volunteer.
§ Parents receive a resource guide to help continue the conversation at home with their children. The kids receive a Money Smart pig.
Each child will receive the “Blue Money Smart Pig” bank to encourage saving
Refreshments will be served
There will be drawings for:
1 - Kindle
3 - $25 vouchers to use when opening a free Huntington Savings account
1 – Gift basket

Thu., June 21, 2012 – 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
§ This values-based workshop is designed for parents and their young teens ages 11 – 14. During the workshop, parents and teens will learn how to make intentional choices about sharing, saving and spending money and talk about money and values in their family. A game format sparks discussion about money influences and choices.
§ Parents receive a resource guide to help continue the discussion of money and values with their teens. Teens receive the Cash Cache®, a personal finance planner.

Members’ Day at the Lucas County Fair
Wed., July 11, 2012 and
Thu., July 12, 2012
11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Post Card will be mailed, it is admission for 2 to the event. Each person registered must check in at the Thrivent Table in the "Babyland" area and will then be entered into a drawing for free prizes (a Kindle, or gift baskets). Each person will receive four "Thrivent Bucks" to spend at 4-H kitchen or Ice Cream stand. Parking is $3.00 per vehicle. There will be a board meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednedsay, at the Fair.
