A Join Hands Day Activity to landscape the Habitat for Humanity House in Bonne Terre was completed on May 31. Youth and adults gathered for a second Join Hands Day activity on June 28. Landscaping included tree and flower plantings, and painting at the Parkland Pregnancy Resource Center in Park Hills.The Perry County Lutheran Chorale performed for a Thrivent Riverview Chapter social event on Father's Day, June 21.
Several Care in Communities projects have been completed this spring. A Relay for Life Trailride was held in Madison County, both the Bonne Terre and Park Hills Senior Centers held Chicken and Dumpling dinners to support their meals on wheels programs, and St. Matthew Lutheran served a soup and chili supper to benefit Camp Hope; St. Paul Relay for Life team completed an activity to support assistance to cancer patients in St. Francois County, and the card party held by the Mineral Area Council on the Arts raised funds to sponsor programs for area school children.
The Thrivent Builds Habitat for Humanity House in Farmington is nearly complete. A final work day will be held on July 11, at 8:00 a.m. VOLUNTEER WORKERS are needed.
The Thrivent Builds Celebration for the Habitat House will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on AUGUST 22 at the St. Paul gym in Farmington. Activities include music, vendors, food, bake sale, car show, etc. Please pray for this event. The Chapter hopes to achieve our goal of contributing both man hours and
$7000 in financial aid to complete the project. COME and join the celebration.
