Thank you for visiting our chapter Web site. Here’s a few things you should know about our chapter.
Our chapter is one of nearly 1,400 nationwide chartered local units of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans that brings Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members together for charitable, social and educational activities. Chapters are organized geographically, primarily by county. All Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members belong to a chapter in the area in which they live, which enables them to aid themselves and others through voluntary action.
Each chapter has a leadership board made up of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who are elected and/or appointed. The chapter leadership board is responsible for allocating funds to service teams for helping individuals and community organizations.

Happy Mothers Day
It was a beautiful day for planting a garden. Twenty awardees are selected from thousands of volunteer projects that develop youth and adult partnerships on JOIN HANDS DAY. Each award-winning project receives a $1,000 check and an engraved glass award. Coordinating groups choose how the funds are used. Some organizations find it appropriate to donate the money to the beneficiary of the project or another benevolent cause. Others choose to save it as seed money for next year's event. An additional number of honorable mention projects, up to 30, will receive honorable mention status and an imprinted Certificate of Distinction.
Samaritan Ministry requested food for there daily use. Yadkin River Chapter used volunteer hours at the Ministry during the month of February 2005. The chapter volunteered the hours needed to reach the goal of $1600.00 for the much needed cereal and canned items. GREAT JOB ALL!!!
Loading one of the two trucks with the canned goods and cereal.
That's the last of the food. A job well done by all!!

Appalachian Help 2004
The Lutheran Church of the Epiphany had a great experience in August of 2004, building a new bedroom on a home in Nora, Virginia - an Appalachian coal mining town. The owner and her invalid mother watched each day as we built a new bedroom for Mom. The Epiphany Buiders finished the work in one week and friends of the family had the inside painted and furnished by the seventh day. The photo tells the story of what a difference we can make in the lives of others through our Thrivent organization.
