Care Abounds in the Communities® |
Through Care Abounds in Communities® program, you have access to funding to help individuals, families, communities and organizations (Lutheran and non-Lutheran not-for-profit groups) exempt from federal income tax under secttion 501 (c)(3)of the Internal Revenue Code, but not congregations.Community service team requests funds from the Laurens-Spartanburg County Chapter leadership board.
If approved, the Laurens-Spartanburg County Chapter leadership board submits the request to Thrivent Financial.
After activity reporting occurs, Thrivent Financial sends funds to the Laurens-Spartanburg County Chapter leadership board, which disburses them, based on the activity request from the community service team. Funding is available by having members participate in a Service Team, which conducts a fund-raising and/or hands-on service activity. Requests for funding are directed to the Laurens-Spartanburg County Chapter by filling out a funding request. This funding request form is available for downloading | |

Care in Congregations® |
Through Care in Congregations®, congregations and their associated Lutheran institutions (e.g., school, early childhood center, etc.) can request funding.Congregational coordinator requests funds from Thrivent Financial prior to the activity being conducted. Through Care in Regions®, individuals, families, communities, and charitable, educational, religious and other organizations exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.Laurens-Spartanburg County Chapter leadership board requests funds from the manager of Lutheran Community services (MLCS). If approved, MLCS submits request to Thrivent Financial. Thrivent Financial sends the funds to the participating chapter leadership boards, which then disburse the funds accordingly. | |
