We, as members, have been truly blessed and our goal is to pass those blessings on to others in and around our communities.Our chapter consists of five churches; Ascension (Shelby), Advent (Spindale), Resurrection and St. Matthews (Kings Mountain), and Trinity (Tryon). Our chapter may be small but we do great things! In 2009 we started off with a yard sale to raise money for Trinity School and a Bunco party to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of Mikayla Creswell. In May 2009 we had a Join Hands Day at a Children’s Home where members, friends, and children helped trim bushes, spread mulch, pull weeds and painted on the inside of the home. (See pictures and write up under the Join Hands Day link.) We are currently working on setting up a second Join Hands Day and have several other activities scheduled throughout the year. Watermelons for Triathletes! |
|
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided 10 watermelons & 5 cantaloupes for this years Over the Mountain Triathlon June 2009 in Kings Mountain, NC. A special thanks to Joann and Glenn Lineberry and Clenon Tackett for setting up a booth and making sure cold slices of melon were available for the participants.

Lutheridge Conference Center and Camp in South Asheville, North Carolina, and Camp Lutherock near Boone, North Carolina, comprise two sites in western North Carolina providing summer camp for children and youth, family programs, adult programs, and opportunities to plan your own retreat or conference for your group. |
