East Blue Ridge NC Chapter

The East Blue Chapter held the Spring Coordinators Training Session on February 23, 2008 at the Caldwell Public Library.
We had a very informative session explaining the new forms and information available to the coordinators on line. A summary of last years activities and events was reported. The board members for 2008 were introduced. Door prizes were given away and a delicious lunch was served. There will be a another training session in the fall. Hope to see all coordinators again in the fall.

Our next Chapter board meeting will be March 6th at 6:30 at the Caldwell Country Library in Lenoir NC. We invite all members to attend.

Hello to all! The Chapter board met last night and are very excited about some of the up coming events. The board is excited about JOIN Hands Day. Mark your calendar for May 3rd as the offical day for your project. But projects can be completed between
April 1st to June 30th. The board voted to grant between $100.00 to $200.00 dollars for each approved project. Now is the time to start planning for your Join Hands Day projects. If you have any questions about planning a project you can call Sandra Icenhour or Barbara Moretz. We want to hear from all of the churches.
The Board has also set a date for Thrivent at the Crawdad's game. This year the game will Sunday July 20th. Mark your calendar for this event also.
We have received several projects for care in the congregations and care in community. Let us keep up the good work you all did last year by using all the monies allocated to our East Blue Ridge Chapter. Start planning now and send in your requests. The chapter will meet again April 3, 2008.

Hello to all members! The East Blue Ridge Chapter will meet next Thursday April 3, 2008 at 6:30 pm at the Caldwell County Public Library. Please submit your projects as soon as possible. Do not forget to be planning your Join Hands Day project and submit these also as soon as possible.
The board members welcome any Thrivent members to join us at our monthly meeting. If you need more information about our meetings please call anyone of the board members.

July 11, 2008
The East Blue Ridge Chapter is sponsoring a night out to watch the Hickory Crawdads ballgame for all Thrivent members. Mark your calendar for Sunday July 20th. The game starts at 5:00 but plan to come early they will be giving away baseball card sets at the gate. Our table will be located at the entrance and you can pick up your tickets and vouchers. We want to hear from a big crowd to shout out when they announce the East Blue Ridge Chapter. If you have a question about this event call any of your board members and they can help you.

July 22, 2008
The East Blue Ridge Chapter will be providing supplement funds for a project on August 2, 2008 at the Salem Park on Hwy 16 N in Taylorsville. The church is sponsoring a Bluegrass Jamboree with all the the proceeds going to the Alexander County Pregnancy Center. The event is on a saturday and starts at 4:00 so bring a chair and come and support this event. They will also be selling hotdogs and drinks. There will be activities for children.
The next chapter board meeting is scheduled for August 7, 2008 at Bo's in Lenoir. If you have any projects for the the board to consider please send your request to anyone of the board members or you can attend our meeting.

Hello to all from the East Blue Ridge Chapter! We were glad to see all of you at the Crawdad game on July 20th. Just a reminder that the board will meet again on thursday August 7, 2008 at Bo's in Lenoir. Be sure to send in your projects before that date for the board to consider or we welcome all to attend our meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30 pm.

Hello to all from the East Blue Chapter Board! We met on August 7, 2008. We have another project if you would like to help a good cause. It will be held September 27, 2008 at Salem Park. It is a fundraiser for a young man in need of a bone marrow transplant. They will be having music and concessions to raise money to help with medical expenses. If you need more information you can contact the team contact of Dianne Chapman at 828-632-3019 or Sharon Warren at 828-632-2952.
The board will be having the Fall Coordinator's Training session on Thursday September 4, 2008 starting at 6:30. This session will be held at the Cajah Mountain Town Hall. We would like for all Coordinators to plan to attend. If you are considering a coordinator position in your church you are also welcome to attend to find out more information. Please contact Barbara Moretz or Connie South for information and directions.
The next board meeting will be October 2, 2007. Please submit your projects as soon as possible. This year seems to be flying by and before we can turn around it will be December. If you have been considering doing a project now is the time to put the plan in works and send in your request to any of the the board members. We welcome any Thrivent members to our board meetings. See you at the Fall Coordinator's Training Session.

Hello to all! It was good to see all of the church coordinators at the fall training session. Ballots were picked up for this years election for the East Blue Ridge Chapter board members at the training session. If you have not received your packet for the election please contact Barbara Moretz or Glenn Deal for your information. Coordinators will be conducting elections at their church in the month of October. If you are not sure when you are to vote please contact your coordinator for the date and a ballot. All the ballots will be mailed into Glenn Deal to be counted.
The chapter board will meet on October 2, 2008. If you have any project for the board to consider please send your paperwork to one of the board members as soon as possible.
Do not forget that October 12th is National Clergy Appreciation Day. Let your pastor know how much you appreciate all that he does.

November 25, 2008
Hello to all! Our work is almost done for this year.
As of this date we have allocated all our community funds but if you have a project and is of great need please contact anyone of the board members and we will see what can be done.
If you have any congregational money left now is the time to plan a project to use the remaining balance. The last day to enter a project is December 18, 2008.
Congratulations go out to Bethany Lutheran of Boone North Carolina for achieving a Congregation of Excellence. Good work and keep it up for next year. We appreciate all you have done this year as congregation.
Happy Thanksgiving from all the East Blue Ridge board members!
