Join Hands Day 2009

Vans loaded with supplies for the homeless shelter

All the supplies at the counter at the shelter
A group of 9 youth and 2 adults left from VBS on Wednesday and headed for the Join Hands Day service project. We had lunch at Stevie B. pizza buffet and then walked to Wal-mart. We used the list of needs the homeless shelter provided to split up into two teams, the backpack team and the DVD team. The kids had a good time picking and deciding. We had $435 to spend at Wal-mart. I was prepared to put items back or go shopping a second time to spend all the money. But amazingly our first try was $433! Close enough!. We then delivered them to the homeless shelter to much appreciation.
