Dr. Charles Reichel, along with other members of the Etowah Chapter of Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans, were on hand last week at First Baptist Church in Downtown Rome to donate a check for $1600 from Thrivent to Rome Kares, Inc. for the 211 Information & Referral Line. This money was part of a challenge supplemental grant from Thrivent. 211 has raised over $2100 in an annual fund campaign. 211’s mission is to provide quality 211 Line Coordination through the effective marketing, fundraising, data base management, networking with community organizations, and to assist in educating the public regarding disaster preparedness and response. 211 is jointly sponsored and funded by the United Way of Rome and Floyd County, the City of Rome, and the Floyd County Government. |
