Guidelines for Funding
Eastern Winona County Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chapter 31215 Guidelines for Funding Assess the need in the Community. Assess the number of people served. The number of volunteer hours. The number of Thrivent Members involved in planning and execution of the fundraiser or project. (Minimum of 6) The amount of dollars to be raised, and/or the cost of the project. Cap of $1600 per organization or individual recipient annually. A cap of $800 per event for organizations. Application needs to be completed and submitted 60 days prior to the fundraiser. The standard rate for supplemental funds is at 50% (50˘ on the dollar.) After the event, a completely filled out Reporting Form and Receipt Envelope needs to be turned in to the Financial Director within 10 days. Fund raisers must include check(s), work projects must include expense receipts. What is allowed/encouraged? Almost any worthwhile charitable cause, but specifically, Individuals/Families in need. Not-for-profit Lutheran charitable organizations. Not-for-profit non-Lutheran charitable organizations. What is not allowed, or prohibited? Congregations’ general funds, operations, etc. Travel, entertainment Are there any fundraising activities which are not permitted, or are ineligible for supplemental funds? You cannot use gambling of any kind, including raffles, pull tabs, bingo, lotteries, etc. You cannot include alcohol sales.
