A Message from the Pastor: |
Welcome in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! You are heartily invited to worship with us at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, located at 40 E. Main Street in Strasburg, PA. We have recently finished a renovation project that has added an elevator, handicapped bathrooms, air conditioning, and office space. Please join us for Sunday school at 9:00 AM, coffee hour at 10:00 AM, and Worship at 10:30 AM Sunday mornings. Ours is a very friendly congregation that truly is small enough to know you and large enough to serve you. If you are visiting the Strasburg area during the week, take a stroll down Main Street and stop in at St. Michael's to visit us, see the historic brick church building, and walk among the fascinating gravestones in the church's adjacent cemetery. Church renovation project |
Groundbreaking ceremony -- January 4, 2009 |
On January 4, 2009 (almost exactly 255 years to the day that the St Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation was chartered), a groundbreaking service was held to signal the start of a 6-month long renovation project to the historic 1806 church sanctuary. The Honorable Mayor Bruce Ryder was present at the service, which was officiated by Pastor Robert Wegehoft and followed by a luncheon. The construction project, directed by S. E. Smoker and Company, was completed in May, ahead of schedule, and a second special service was held to dedicate the new elevator, handicapped accessible bathrooms, Pastor's study, and central air conditioning improvements to the original historical building.
