CHERYL's PINK RIBBON

FINALLY--An Update - MAY 9, 2004
Hi Everyone, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU!! So sorry I have not updated this posting in a while. This has been on my mind for the last couple of days, so I got up early this morning to do it before I go to church. Everything has been kinda crazy around here the past couple of weeks. My dad spent 3 days in the hospital last week. He was passing blood, so of course it took some time to find out what was going on there. He had had some polyps removed from his colon the week before and before everything was healed good he was at my house digging out a couple of bushes for me and strained too much breaking the internal scab loose causing the bleeding. Does that make sense?? Anyway, the main thing is that he is fine now. Well, it's getting closer to my big day. And I'm getting a little nervous. I have heard from several people that I will have some pain to deal with and not be able to do much for myself for a while. I don't deal with either one of those very well. Pain? Yuk!! And more lying around??? How much more can a go getter take???? My lifestyle for so long has been 90 mph in reverse, that this slow down has really been difficult for me to get used to. Please remind me that I complained about this when I have a hundred and one things penciled in on my calendar one day!!!Ha ha
It's time so get ready for church and I didn't quite get finished. So I'll finish this a little later today. Have a great day!!! Til later....One day later...My fingernails look like they have a fungus but it's caused by the chemo. Not too pretty!!They will eventually come off. The surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am on Thurs.,May 13th. Trying to mentally prepare, which seems to be the most difficult part. Still a little nervous. I'll be glad when it's over and I'm back home. Thanks for the cards, calls, and prayers. Keep em coming..Luv,Cheryl
