Summer is Back in the Parish of Mont Vaudois |
Iris - the "Fleur de Lys" - blooms at the parsonage in Couthenans |
Summer is back in eastern France. We have had blazing hot days and days we need a jacket. The pace has slowed now that the last Parish Festival - Chenebier - is over. Vacation has arrived! | |

The Beautiful Region of Haute-Saône |
|
The Departement of the Haute-Saône, where Couthenans is located, is lovely in summer. Here is the Chateau de Gy, summer residence of the bishops of Besançon prior to the French Revolution. Click on the photo album page for more summer photos. |

A Visit to the Chateau of Haut-Koenigsburg |
|
Celebrating my birthday in France meant a visit from my mother and friend George, and a lovely day trip to Alsace. The Frohn family joined us for a fabulous meal at the Auberge du Tonnelier, a look at the local storks nesting on nearby roofs, a visit to a vineyard, and a tour of the Castle of Haut-Koenigsburg. What a wonderful day! I've included more pictures on my Photo Album page. |

Busy Fall Season in France |
The Schnellers and friends play at my installation service |
I have been officially installed as one of two pastors serving the parish of Mont Vaudois. My installation was Sunday, September 19 at Chagey. We have celebrated "back to school" with a service including children and youth at the temple in Hericourt. Sunday, October 3 was Harvest Sunday, celebrated at Brevilliers. The Apple Festival at Luze, the neighboring village to Couthenans, was October 19, and even though it poured rain, the intrepid pastors and families trekked through mud and mire to join the fesivities. Reformation Sunday was celebrated at Champey, with woodsmoke serving as incense. | | | | Go To Page: 1 [2][3] |
