First Lutheran Church is an ELCA church located in the heart of the northwoods of Wisconsin. We offer a variety of ways for you to become involved in the life of our church, as well as in the community of Prentice. Our services are at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday morning with Sunday school for all ages, following the worship service. We celebrate Holy Communion during the first and third Sundays of each month. We believe that Scripture teaches that Christ is truly present in the Sacrament, giving us his body and blood in, with and under the bread and wine; so that believing hearts may be assured of God's forgiveness, life and salvation. If you are looking for other programs, we offer Bible studies, confirmation and choirs. The third Sunday of each month is a Contemporary Service. In the summer we have Vacation Bible School for our children, and we offer many special seasonal events as well. During Advent and Lent we offer midweek services. As Lutherans we believe and teach |
That the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God.That there is only one true God, who has revealed Himself in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That Jesus Christ is true God, begotten of the Father and true man born of the Virgin Mary. That by His suffering and death on the cross, He fully atones for all of our sins. That Jesus rose from the dead on Easter morning and later ascended to Heaven. That God comes to us in His Church through the chosen means of grace; the Word and the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. That Jesus will return on the last day to judge the living and the dead, and receive all those who believe in Him to Himself in glory.
