JULY 14-17
Every three years, Lutheran women from around the country gather together to worship, learn and fellowship together. This year they are coming to Spokane and will be meeting at the Convention Center. It is still possible to register online at http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Ministry/Women-of-the-ELCA/Triennial-Convention-and-Gathering/Triennial-Gathering/Overview-and-Registration.aspx.
THRIVENT MOBILE FOOD TRUCK
JULY 22
The Thrivent mobile food truck is coming to our parking lot on Friday, July 22. Last year we distributed food to over 350 of our hungry neighbors.
But Shawn can’t do this alone! We need volunteers to move tables into the parking lot, distribute food and help with clean up. We welcome children! There are plenty of things even little ones can do. If you are free on July 22, please come between 8:30 and 9:00 am and plan to stay until 12:30 pm. This is a wonderful day when we can be really generous - sort of like Jesus feeding the 5000.
Make it a date! Come and help out!
“Four Rules of Life”
DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR & LIE
I met this guy while I was in Albuquerque and he has
a motto he lives by everyday. He said listen carefully and
live by these 4 rules : Drink, Steal, Swear, & Lie.
I was shaking my head 'no', but he then told me to listen
while he explained his four rules. So here they are:
1.. "Drink" from the "everlasting cup" every day.
2.. "Steal" a moment to help someone that is in worse shape
than you are.
3.. "Swear" that you will be a better person today than
yesterday.
4.. And last, but not least, when you "lie" down at night
thank God you live in America and have freedom.
I am not as good as I should be, I am not as good
as I could be.
But THANK GOD
I am better than I used to be!
