St. John Ev. Lutheran School is the educational arm of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. It is affiliated with the Minnesota South District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The school is, at all times, under the control and support of the local congregation. All final decisions as to policy and procedure lie in the hands of the voter's assembly of the congregation. For efficiency, the congregation elects a Board of Education and delegates to this body much of the authority for the day-to-day operation of the school. The Board is responsible to the congregation. The Pastor and the faculty serve as advisory members to the board with the Pastor and the called male principal being members ex-officio. The appointing of contract teachers, the adoption of courses of study, the choosing of textbooks, and all major changes within the school are carried out only with the approval of the Board of Education and, if necessary, the voter's assembly. The Principal of the school must act as executive director, who, with the help of the faculty, suggests changes and policies for the improvement and welfare of the school. This September St. Johns school began offering a Pre-School program for 3 to 5 year old children. If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity you may call 507-352-4671 or write to the school at PO box 189, Wykoff, MN 55990. To accomodate the new pre-school and provide additional space for computers, library, office, and storage; an addition to the front of the school is being added and should be complete sometime this school year. We look forward to this fine addition to school program and building. |

St. John School has adopted Christian textbooks in as many subject areas as possible. The purpose for making the change has been to avoid the severely humanistic trends and information that are present in secular textbooks, thus providing our children with a Christ-centered course of study. |

St. John school is maintained first of all for the training of the children of its members. For that reason, member's children are first to be enrolled. We welcome other parents who may be interested in obtaining a Christian education for their children. To that end, the following enrollment priorities have been adopted as space permits.
Children will be enrolled in this order:
- Children of members.
- Children of parents having no church affiliation.
- Children of parents belonging to sister congregations.
- Children of parents holding membership in other denominations (subject to space availability)
St. John admits students of any race, color, or ethnic origin subject to the above restrictions. |
