Gracious Lord, our heavenly Father, on this day we pause to remember the sacrifices made for freedom throughout the past centuries. We gives thanks this Memorial Day for all the blessings You have given our nation. Help us to know that freedom, prosperity, and other blessings come from You, and make us thankful. As our memories go back to those who have died to preserve our liberties, make us grateful and humble. When we meet those who have served, remind us to thank them. Almighty God, guide the leaders of our nation. Watch over those who serve in our armed forces, especially those far from home. And above all, grant that we, Your children by faith in Christ may find a field of service in which we as salt and leaven, may uphold righteousness, order, and peace, in Jesus name. Amen.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

| | WORSHIP IN THE PARK!Sunday June 10th we will gather at the Clear Spring Park for worship, fellowship and lunch. Service will begin at 10:30 A.M. Following the Word and Sacrament we will lunch on steamers and hot dogs. The remainder of the meal is a smorgasbord of salads, casseroles, and desserts and whatever you choose to bring that is convenient. Each person/family brings their place settings, tablecloths, covered dish and drink. It is a beautiful setting east of the Fairview Mountain, a pavilion for cover in case of rain or hot sun, gym equipment for the young ones and rest room facilities near by. This year blue grass music will be played by our own Warner (Red) Shingleton and his friends on banjo and guitar. We invite you to come and join us in praising God who has given us hope for a glorious future. It has always been a fun day of Christian fellowship. *************************************************************** Community Vacation Bible School held at St. John's UCC June 11 - 15th.
