STEWARDSHIPMembers of Mt. Moriah,
We appreciate your support throughout the year. The Stewardship Committee has made an effort this year to make members more aware of our stewardship opportunities. We take this opportunity to thank those of you who answered the call to increase your weekly contributions.
We continue to need the support of everyone to help Mt. Moriah move forward. Look for future Stewardship information in announcements, bulletins, and newsletters. Our intent is not to offend anyone, but to heighten our awareness of God’s blessings in our lives and our need to respond through increased stewardship. Stewardship is not just a one-time giving, it’s a way of life. We, as Christians, should seek out ways that Christ would have us support his ministry.
Thank you,
Your Stewardship Committee
“From everyone to whom much is given, much will be required…” Luke 12:48
P.S. The Bible says that God did not rest until everything was done. All of us need to do a little extra sometimes to get our work done.

One definition of Steward is “A person who manages the affairs of a household or an estate of the owner”. In the Christian sense, a steward is “The manager of the affairs of God on earth”. God has made each of us “A STEWARD” and has given us Abilities and Talents that are unique. We should use these abilities and talents to SERVE GOD.
Everything we have is given to us by God. Our time, our health, our talents, our property, our relationships, the environment, the Gospel, etc. We bring nothing into this world…and we take nothing out of it. EVERYTHING that we have while we are here comes as a GIFT OF GOD. In appreciation of these gifts, we choose to share a portion of them.
The stewardship of our property is an ongoing process; therefore, we give regularly and systematically in proportion to the gifts which were given to us. Because we love God, we gladly dedicate these gifts to God’s service, and give a worthy portion.
Giving money to the church is both a symbolic Act and a Practical Matter. SYMBOLIC in that we are offering ourselves in service and devotion to God and PRACTICAL in that our offerings make it possible for the church to pay its bills and carry out its mission in Christ’s name.
The Bible says that we should set aside our “First Fruits”. Our offering to God should be the first portion we set aside, not what remains. We seek no “Rewards” for our stewardship; we do it with the JOY OF SERVING GOD. Yet, we know that God does reward stewards by filling their needs in life; by giving new opportunities to care, to share, to participate in the wholeness of life. Stewardship is a responsibility of the Christian life, making our prayers, our worship, our study of the Scriptures and our Christian actions truly SINCERE.
Prayerfully consider your roll as a “Steward of God” in our church family here at Mt. Moriah and support us in our journey of Christian faithfulness.
